1、 Background color coating and filter:
This time, the 75 gun shield of the dragon was used to demonstrate the painting process. The primer is a mixture of stone color in C21 and sand brown and white in C19, with a ratio of about 4:4:2. As long as you like, you can adjust the background color! However, the adjusted color must be lighter than the expected color, so that the color will not fade after aging!
The drawing techniques of CM and Adam are referenced, but they are not so exaggerated. Use the background color called out in the front, add it to the lower third of the brown spray gun shield, spray the middle third with the background color and yellow, and spray the third with the background color and white. Then evenly spray the diluted background color to neutralize the color difference. It's almost finished. Then, dilute the German yellow and deep earth tones with AV pigment, and then use the hard nylon oil brush to play on the gun shield to simulate tiny paint drops and stains. Use German yellow to draw some prominent details, such as rivets, small covers, etc!
The next step is to prepare the filter. Filter with two oil painting colors of Mig 502 series, wash brown (light yellow) and Marley's medium yellow white oil painting color, dilute slightly with engine oil, and then filter on the gun shield from top to bottom with Marley's white, buff (light yellow), Marley's medium yellow, wash brown (light yellow).
If you have mastered the use characteristics of AV paint, you can filter the second oil paint for ten minutes, and then filter it again with AV paint, without waiting for the previous oil paint to completely dry. This method is suitable for people who have mastered the characteristics of AV pigments!
One thing to say: when painting the pigment filter, it is more natural to brush slowly with a brush dipped in solvent than with a cotton swab.
2、 Stain washing:
In order to unify the color, soften the color difference caused by different filters, and make the building model look older and more vicissitudes, after finishing the filter, you can wash it with very light emulsion:
It's MiG 502 paint. In fact, other good or imported oil paints can be used, but I have no art skills, so I can only buy off the shelf MIG502 series oil paints with good colors.
A little of each is enough. After all, it has not reached the standard of capitalist development. Save if you can. Then, thin it with light oil and use a flat brush. Pay attention to the direction of water flow when brushing, and do not brush back and forth. More emulsion can be added to the pen. After brushing, the excess paint can be sucked off with other dry pens. If there is any unnatural place, use a clean brush dipped with engine oil and brush slowly. Do not wipe with cotton swabs or paper towels. Try to be natural and smooth!
The effect after completion: Compared with the state of the filter before completion, it is more natural and has richer color levels!
After the whole stain is washed, wash the details with dark brown oil painting color (the so-called soakage line), which will make the details clearer! Friends without this kind of paint can use other oil paints, black and brown, to replace! You can also use Tiangong enamel paint.
Third, spot the paint:
Now you can start to paint off. The paint removal effect can be done in several ways, including direct pen drawing, sponge method, salt method, hair gel paint removal method and so on!
Because the gun shield is relatively small, I mainly use a brush to draw small areas of paint, while using a sponge method to draw a slightly larger area. Pay attention to the paint removal position when using sponge method. Don't use sponge to remove paint crazily when you think it is beautiful, which will make the building model look pockmarked. Although the paint falls off badly, it is very lifelike, but it is ugly when looking at the whole building model!
The paint shall be painted yellow. First dip the sponge in AV paint, apply more paint drops to the four corners of the gun shield, and then apply less paint drops to other parts with a finishing pen. Don't be too careful. Just click at random. Just pay attention to the paint drop position! Then draw some scratches on the plane at random.
When the paint is removed, it is complete. Start the second paint removal. Use these two colors of AV pigment in the picture to mix out black and brown, and slowly and carefully apply them with a sponge. Don't worry, take your time! Pay attention to the position where the paint falls off. The shield horn is the one that falls off badly! Use a face pencil to correct the deficiency. Black rust has a deeper color this time, which can let you see a clearer effect!
After the second paint removal, start the third paint removal. The purpose of the third paint removal is to make the paint removal more rich and delicate, and make the rust color different from the old one. (If a friend feels troublesome, he can only do it for the first two times, and the black earth color will be lighter).
I used these two AV pigments in the photo. Brown shows a slightly lighter rust color, while Knight Red shows a darker rust color. Feel free to draw on the front paint with a face pencil. (If you want to make it more rusty, you can use the orange color of AV to brush it again.)
Fourth, rust flow
In reality, where the paint falls off, embroidery stains will flow down after being wet by rain. This step is mainly to imitate the rust spot.
To make rust with MIG oil paint, the steps are: dip a face pen in a slightly diluted oil paint, and then draw a road from top to bottom along the direction of water flow where you want to make rust. The road can be long or short. Then wipe it gently with a cotton swab from top to bottom, and rust can be seen. First use light color, and then use dark color to strengthen. The antirust pigment can be replaced according to the required effect. It can be redder, yellower and blacker. You can also use the orange tone of AV to fade, and paint it on the starting position of rust for better effect!

Manufacturing steel trace
In order to make the building model look like steel, full of texture. The following steps can be used to show texture: use a pencil above 5B to rub off paint drops at the corner of the gun shield. This method is simple and effective.
