Building model Four types of chassis
To make a sand table model, the chassis of the sand table model must be made before other work can continue. A good chassis is the foundation of a good sand table, and everything is difficult at the beginning! The chassis should be customized according to customers and actual needs. In the construction sand table, there are mainly four types of chassis: flat chassis, hilly chassis, water surface chassis, and large square chassis. Each type of chassis requires different materials and practices. The materials and practices of the four chassis will be discussed.
Let's start with a sand table chassis with flat ground. This must be simple for Z, and it is relatively easy to start. The flat floor chassis is based on the wooden chassis, and the large surface can be pasted with one of city paper, blow molding paper, organic glass and brown glass. This chassis generally uses dark red and dark gray velvet paper as the lawn greening of the ground, and then sticks a hard floor with dark gray blow molding paper to represent the ground of the road square. Another method is to stick plexiglass first, and then stick city paper as green grass.
The chassis of hilly land is made on the basis of a wooden chassis, just like a flat sand table chassis. In order to present the slope of the mound and slope, it is natural to paint some fillers to make them bulge. Generally, contour lines of hilly land are filled with foam blocks or blow molding paper. After the filler is glued, the floor material is paved on it.
For the surface chassis, in order to be more vivid, real water is usually used to show a large area of water, and even goldfish are put in. Small water surfaces can be simulated with some materials instead. Organic glass is a good material for making water surface. Lay plexiglass on the bottom plate, then paste abrasive on it, and carve the water surface with a false scalpel. You can also use some individual stones to decorate the water to activate the atmosphere. You can also use colorless plastic film and paint it blue, or choose blue reflective tin foil.
The square chassis can be made of blow molding paper, sandpaper, plexiglass and brown glass as floor materials. It only needs one more step, carve different textures on it, and then paste it on the base plate.
